Printing on the move December 1st 2008 Auto ID specialist, Toshiba
TEC Europe, has launched
two portable label printers –
the B-EP2 and the B-EP4 – to
provide wireless functionality
and reliability on the move.
Suitable for warehousing
and logistics environments,
they can be used for
shipping labels, invoices
delivery notes and parcel
tracking. They meet all the
requirements necessary for
integration into legacy
systems, protecting
customers' previous
investments.
The B-EP2 and B-EP4 offer
USB and infrared interfaces
as standard and link quickly
and seamlessly with other
handheld devices Both pass
drop tests at heights of up
to 1.5m on concrete.
With built in Bluetooth
connectivity or secure
wireless network (WLAN),
communications are also
available with specific
models making the printers
suitable for portable POS
and remote transaction
processing applications.
With the added benefit of
coreless media, the B-EP2
and B-EP4 are
environmentally-friendly.
The printers are Windows
compatible, driven by a 32-
bit flash-based CPU and have
a full range of interfaces,
backlit LCD and key interface.
The range is powered by
long lasting Lithium-Ion
battery technology. The BEP2
has a single roll capacity
of 400 labels of 50mm
length; the B-EP4 achieves a
single roll output of 530
