RFID smart label printer February 1st 2005 Weber Marking Systems says its new 5200 smart label printer-applicator can print, encode, verify and apply pressure sensitive RFID smart labels to cartons and pallet loads in one operation.
The 5200rfid offers a selection of print engines that utilise thermal transfer technology to produce smart labels with text, bar codes and graphics at 203 dpi. As labels are printed, digital information is instantly encoded into thin ultra-high frequency (UHF) tags that are embedded into the smart label material.
The encoded information is verified immediately by the system and the smart label is then applied to the top or the side of a carton or pallet load as required.
Labels up to 5x6” can be dispensed at up to 12”/second using the noncontact, tampblow method which gently blows the label onto the surface.
If an embedded tag cannot be verified, it is rejected before it is applied: A swing plate intercepts the smart label for subsequent collection and disposal, without affecting the running of the production line. More articles from Weber Marking Systems Limited: |
