Stanelco seals GREENSEAL deal with ASDA

RF applications group, Stanelco, has signed a 12 month contract with ASDA for its GREENSEAL tray lidding and thermoforming RF technology in the UK and Ireland. The company says ASDA anticipates adapting several hundred machines to use the technology due to its benefits.

The agreement follows successful trials at a number of different ASDA suppliers and will mean that the suppliers will, where practical, convert from traditional heat sealing to Stanelco’s RF technology.

According to Stanelco the benefits are: up to 20% lower packaging material cost; higher integrity seal; removal of laminated plastics in favour of greener monoplastics and; up to 70% saving on tray lidding/ thermoforming machines.
