Stock control challenge met

Supplier and merchandiser of home entertainment products, Handleman, is benefiting from a sophisticated Paxar stock control solution.

The challenge presented to Paxar was to devise a more efficient and workable alternative to the fixed station printers and network terminals that the company had used previously. Portability, productivity and accuracy were key requirements of the new system.

The solution, which added advanced ergonomics and ease of use to the benefits package, turned out to be the first Symbol wearable scanner to be installed by Paxar. It utilises the WSS 1060 scanner system that combines portable computing and wireless networking, which can be performed while the user's hands remain totally free to perform other tasks. This was integrated with a wireless Paxar 9460 portable barcode printer to produce location labels.
