Temperature monitoring RFID tag adds value
December 1st 2004

New from inotec UK, as well as carrying data the KSW TempSense RFID tag is also programmable to measure temperature profiles or out of range extremes over a chosen time period.

The tag is capable of recording temperatures between -15°C and +50°C with an accuracy of ±1°C.

Operating in the widely used 13.56MHz range, the ISO 15693 approved tag also allows 2kbits of writable information to be read and written multiple times over an expected 18 month life cycle.

The tag is expected to be of particular interest to the food and pharmaceutical sectors, where out of range temperatures can ruin food or have a detrimental effect on pharmaceutical products.

Highly durable, the tags come in label form for easy attachment to plastic totes and are resistant to washing and a range of chemicals. Free demos of the tags can be arranged by contacting the company.
