Handhelds: Opticon says its PHL-7112 'provides the right blend of robustness, performance and full shift up-time, thanks to its use of industry standard architecture (Windows CE 5.0, Cisco CCX v4 compatible WiFi) comprehensive mechanical protection (IP54, 1.5 metre drop withstand) and large battery capacity (3000mAh)'. The firm says the price-point of the PHL-7112 (from around Ł750) helps keep the overall SSCC system cost down while meeting all party's needs.

Printer: Toshiba TEC says the B-SX600 600 dpi 4-inch thermal transfer label printer delivers high-performance printing and is 'purpose-built for 24/7 heavy duty applications'.

According to Toshiba, a 0.3mm accuracy of print position means it can print on a 3mm label or peeloff 10mm labels. A ribbon control mechanism maintains ribbon tension and keeps the ribbon straight during the printing process. The media center alignment option prevents unbalanced contact of media with the print head, preventing blurred print at the media edges.
