Wristband printer solutionAugust 1st 2008
Varlink has introduced the new HC100 wristband printer from Zebra Technologies. The HC100 Patient ID printing solution was developed to meet the needs of healthcare providers. The HC100 direct thermal printer is combined with easy-to-load cartridges containing the Zebra's ZBand antimicrobial-coated wristbands.
"Zebra products can help VARs offer healthcare professionals solutions to comply with new legislation coming into force on July 18th standardising the use of patient wristbands," says Sabine Kelly, Varlink marketing manager. "All NHS organisations will have to issue patient wristbands containing the patient's name, date of birth, NHS unique number and first line of address. This information can be easily incorporated into a 2D barcode printed on the patient wristband. The barcode can be scanned at the point of care to help eliminate errors."
