Buying into RFID
December 1st 2007

Toshiba TEC has partnered international retailing company the METRO Group in its Future Store Initiative, an RFID item level trial held in a store environment. The trial is being held at the METRO Group's Galeria Kaufhof in Essen, Germany.

Galeria Kaufhof first implemented RFID technology in its logistics and warehouse management systems back in 2004. The Future Store Initiative will be using Toshiba's B-SA4 desktop printer fitted with the latest UHF RFID technology.

Suited to environments printing high volume labels, the B-SA4 also now benefits from integrated RFID technology bringing greater flexibility within the working retail environment.

The B-SA4 is installed with a new breed of RFID modules which are specifically designed and manufactured to meet the requirements of the internal printer environment.
