Hanging around June 1st 2008 Dürkopp Fördertechnik
has developed
Rolladapter, a multiple
use RFID device to track
individual hanging
garments and similar
products in real time,
from goods-in to
dispatch. One German
internet shopping
business uses
Rolladapter to manage
both single home
delivery items and to
handle volume stock
going to retail outlets.
The Rolladapter
transports individual
hanging items along an
overhead conveyor
system, and is
programmed to carry
relevant information for
tracking, sorting and
printing labels, and
barcodes. Each
Rolladapter has a unique
product ID and can be
recognised by readers at
any stage. The device is
automatically removed at
the end of the process for
re-use on incoming stock,
reducing costs.
The company says a
full Dürkopp designed
Rolladapter-based
storage, automated
picking and retrieval
system running on a
closed overhead
aluminium rail, can read
items at a rate of 8000
items per hour or more. More articles from Durkopp Fordertechnik: |
