RFID version of printer-applicator launched
February 1st 2007

Weber Marking Systems has launched an RFID version of its 5200 series printerapplicator.

The new 5200rfid smart label printer-applicator features an integrated system that can print, encode, verify and apply pressure-sensitive RFID smart labels to cartons and pallet load in one operation.

It offers a selection of print engines that use thermaltrensfer technology to produce smart labels with text, bar codes and grpahics at 203 dpi. As labels are printed, digital information is instantly encoded onto thin, ultra-high requency (UHF) RFID version of printer-applicator launched tags that are emebedded in the smart label material.

The encoded information is verifed immediately by the system and the smart label is then applied to the top or side of a carton or pallet load as required. Labels up to 5x6'' can be dispensed at up to 12'/second using the noncntact, tamp-blow method, which gently blows the label onto the surface.
