Three new Leuze sizes make sense
February 1st 2005

Leuze Mayser has three new models in its precision optical distance measuring sensors range.

Providing mid-range measurement, the new models support others in a range that already measures over distances up to 170m.

At the small end is the ODSL 8 laser sensor with a range of 20 to 40mm, a resolution of 0.1mm and a repeat accuracy of 0.25% of measured value.

The ODS 30 has a maximum range of up to 30m – making it suitable for applications such as diameter determination, positioning of lifting tables, fork positioning etc. It has an accuracy of +/-1mm depending on the measuring range.

According to Leuze, user versatility is demonstrated through an integral display and pressbutton for switching values from metric to imperial units. Switching thresholds and response times to match individual response times is simple, says the company.

The ODS 96 is for measurements of up to 5m. Versatile and rugged – with metal housing, glass lens cover and IP67 rating – one of its key features is a CCD element enabling high measurement accuracy regardless of surface properties.
