Advanced inventory optimisation software

Central heating system manufacturer, Worcester, has implemented a sophisticated inventory optimisation system from Inform enabling it to maintain 100% ex-stock on 4000 stock lines.

The advanced software optimises decision making for procurement and inventory control, to give accurate, real time forecasting. Managing the stock used to involve three people but with the new system the work is now handled with relative ease by one person.

Called add*ONE, the Inform system provides advanced mathematics for demand forecasting, purchase order call-off, and inbound freight cost minimisation. Everything that happens during the day goes through detailed analysis. Each part is re-planned every day, giving a continually updated monthly forecast.

Inform is also reported to have had significant impact down the line with the improved stock situation leading to significantly less calls to the company's call centre.
