Logistics technology for distribution centre

International media company, Pearson PLC has selected FKI Logistex to provide logistics technology at its new publishing distribution centre.

Equipment being installed by FKI Logistex includes fully automated curve going pallet cranes, automated miniload cranes and conveyors for case and tote bin handling. There will also be a pick by light installation, plus high speed sortation for quick, accurate and damage free order consolidation and despatch.

The critical warehouse management and control system is being provided by FKI Logistex Systems specialists in sophisticated logistics computing solutions.

We have chosen to implement some of the more advanced, but proven, logistics technology from FKI Logistex in order to increase productivity, said Nick White, managing director of Pearson Shared Services in the UK.
