Wireless fleet management October 1st 2008 Yale Europe, in
collaboration with I.D.
Systems of New Jersey, has
introduced a dedicated
wireless fleet management
system for customers
wishing to reduce operating
costs with a cost effective
fleet management system,
which operates
automatically to provide
remote real-time monitoring
of all lift truck operations.
According to Yale,
wireless fleet management
systems result in better
equipment utilisation,
reduced energy costs,
accident damage and
maintenance requirements
and improved productivity.
The advantage of the Yale
Wireless Asset Management
(WAM) system is the single
solution incorporating
comprehensive system
architecture: intelligent truck
communicator module;
automatic 2-way radio
frequency (RF) communications;
pre-located
Wireless Asset Managers;
and Wireless Asset Net
server software, designed to
interface with leading ERP
systems.
With real-time wireless
tracking of all truck
operating parameters, it is
possible to measure precisely
the criteria
considered
most
important for
each
application.
For example, actual
operating hours versus idle
hours, truck routing,
speeding, collisions and
unauthorised operation, all
of which can have a severe
impact on productivity.
The recorded
data can be
customised for each
application with a series of

easy to interpret reports and

activity and events against

operating
criteria. More articles from Yale Europe Materials Handling: |
