Weighing and filling in hazardous areaDecember 1st 2004
When DSM Composite Resin installed a facility to reinforce the rigidity of domestic baths, it called upon Applied Weighing to provide the required weighing and filling elements. All systems have to operate in a Zone 1 hazardous area.
To accurately measure the tank components, three safemount weighing assemblies have been installed under the tank, along with an intelligent load cell junction box. This detects errors or failure in load cells and sets off an alarm before a potential problem can occur.
To allow containers and drums to be filled with resin and weighed, an ultra low profile weighing platform has been supplied. Of robust construction, the stainless steel platform has been designed to meet Zone 1 requirements.
