"Massive cost reductions" from WMS December 1st 2008 A RedPrairie WMS has cut operational
costs for 3PL, Seafield Logistics. Aready live
at two sites, a third implementation is
planned for March 2009. Seafield also uses
RedPrairie's Duty Management solution to
run its bonded warehousing.
"We wanted a solution that could be
rolled out across multi-sites, to control the
ownership, and be able to decentralise skills
across IT, so that expertise could be spread
across our estate," says Seafield's Justin
Hunt. " We were looking to drive down the
initial cost of ownership, and importantly,
offer improved service and more flexibility
to our customers in terms of being able to
interface data in and out of the system.
"RedPrairie went out of their way on the
initial proposal, understood what we
wanted to achieve and their price and
functionality were excellent value for
money. The implementation has led to
massive cost reductions."
Seafield Logistics previously used a
bespoke system that was expensive to
maintain, with high on-going costs when
interface development was required. More articles from RedPrairie Ltd: |
