Picking errors slashed
August 1st 2008 Eismann UK, a provider of
top quality frozen food, has
gone live with Solarsoft
Business Systems' nextgeneration
ERP software
which provides the company
with fully integrated backoffice
ordering, warehouse
control and distribution
through one integrated
system.
Eismann has already
seen, through the
implementation of Solarsoft,
reductions in picking errors
to less than 1% of picked
goods. Indeed, by the end
of the year, Eismann expects
that picking error costs will
have been reduced to as
little as 0.5%.
Bill Asling, Eismann's IT
and sales controlling
manager, comments "With a
manual picking system, we
had no way of tracking
where we were losing stock,
nor did we have the
resources to go through
regular stock checks every
day. However, through the
use of Solarsoft's ERP
system, all of our individual
items can be traced and
tracked, allowing minimal
room for picking error.
"As a result of the
implementation, we are
seeing reductions in picking
errors and subsequent
losses to only 1% of picked
goods – a statistic that we
see dropping further still to
as little as 0.5% by the end
