WMS helps improve tile service
August 1st 2008 Tile retailer Discount Tiles
has reaped a range of
benefits since installing an
Optimiser warehouse
management system from
Optima Warehouse
Solutions in its Stockton-on-
Tees warehouse.
Although the system is
used by just six warehouse
operatives, it is accessed by
up to 30 store staff via
Internet connections. Store
teams can check real time
stock levels so that
customers know at once
whether their choice of tile
is available and, if out-ofstock,
they can inform them
when the item comes in.
Russ Dalgleish, MD, says
that as well as improved
stock accuracy and better
customer information
Optimiser lets him see
which stock lines sell well in
which store and he can
monitor the accuracy of
warehouse staff.
The WMS is in the remote
local warehouse and linked
to the main office via broadband
