Gas powered truck weighs less, lifts high
December 1st 2008

Narrow Aisle has announced the launch of the FLEXI eco GAS, a new addition to the FLEXI range of articulated forklift trucks.

The Flexi eco GAS loads and unloads lorries from a dock or loading ramp and, with its three-way catalytic converter, is suitable for indoor work too. A range of low profile lift masts – including four stage 'quad' types – have also been developed to provide safe access into ISO containers and still give lift heights up to 6m.

The ability to unload standard ISO shipping containers and take pallets directly to the very narrow aisle pallet racking is expected to be a very popular function in the future – particularly within the third party logistics sector where RFID is becoming more widely used.

The FLEXI eco GAS is a gas-powered articulated truck that is capable of working for long shifts and offers exceptional fuel efficiency. Narrow Aisle says the new model uses up to 20% less LPG over the course of a typical shift than other gas-powered articulated trucks.

The company also claims that without a load, the truck weighs some 30% less than some existing articulated models. The FLEXI eco GAS is light enough to be suitable for container stuffing and destuffing tasks and is compatible with all standard semi-trailers.

The new truck is also light enough to be lifted and lowered by most scissor lifts at sites where it is required to access a trailer – unlike heavier forklift models which require ramps.
