LPG-powered articulated truck June 1st 2008 LP Gas-powered articulated
forklifts operate at many
sites around the world and
their ability to combine the
VNA performance of an
articulated forklift truck,
with the power and
availability of a propanepowered
truck has become
attractive to many specifiers.
John Maguire, sales and
marketing director of
Narrow Aisle Flexi, says:
"Gas powered articulated
trucks are at their best at
sites where they are
required to operate on
demand, perhaps for an
hour at a time and then left
idle over two or three shifts.
In such cases, a single bottle
of gas is usually sufficient to
power the truck over three
shifts and this can be more
economical than frequent
battery changes. Gas trucks
should also be considered
where more than 50% of
work takes place outside."
The Flexi GAS from
Narrow Aisle Flexi has threeway
catalytic converter and
GM LPG engine which
provides power on demand.
However, as Maguire points
out, it is essential that the
site where the trucks are to
be used is suitable for LPG. More articles from Narrow Aisle Limited: |
