Cost-effective pallet break down achieved December 1st 2006 A leading supermarket chain has used an innovative solution from B&B Attachments to eliminate manual handling from its packaging plants. The result is a quicker, more efficient and cost effective method of breaking down pallet loads. The supermarket receives large daily deliveries of fresh produce which arrive in containers. Packed on to pallets, each load then needs to be broken down. Pallet loads can often be as high as 2000mm making them difficult to handle manually. B&B solved the problem with a specially adapted clamp incorporating a layer picker and mast. Now, the clamp successfully handles a wide range of products including boxes of crisps, glass containers and tinned products. More articles from B & B Attachments: |
