LayerMaster goes bananas

Faced with health and safety concerns about manual unpacking of containers that included an extra headheight layer of bananas, Fyffes' Wakefield depot is using a LayerMaster forklift attachment from B&B Attachments – a new clamp specifically designed to cope with palletised loads that require splitting for easier handling and storage.

Used with a Linde truck, the LayerMaster has provided Fyffes with a safe means of unpacking the container without having to handle heavy boxed goods above head height. Fyffes also uses the attachment and forklift to load bananas on to trucks for onward transportation to supermarkets.

Easy and quick to remove, the LayerMaster system can quickly be moved to any location within a warehouse, enhancing efficiency.
