Trucks for cool conditions August 1st 2007 International Bulk Liquids'
(Storage & Transport) cold
store operation currently
uses nine Linde trucks
including the R 16 N reach
truck, T 20 AP ride on pallet
trucks and the T 18
pedestrian pallet truck.
Trucks have been adapted
and modified over the years
to suit the particular needs of
IBL's cold store environment
and drive-in racking.
The reach trucks are used
to store and retrieve goods
from the warehouse racking
and can be operating in
temperatures that range
from -18°C to +10°C, while
the pallet trucks are used to
load and unload the road
transport vehicles. IBL Cold
Stores handles and stores
mainly palletised foodstuffs
at lift heights of up to six
metres. "We can be moving
up to 1,000 pallets a day
which, during peak times can
increase to 1,400 a day," says
Ian Desmonde of IBL Cold
Stores. "With Linde, we have
the flexibility to introduce
short-term hire to cover our
peak demands and during
the Christmas period, for
example, the Linde fleet can
meet all of our bespoke
requirements. We have
always received a good
service from Linde; the trucks
are reliable, efficient and
ultimately get the job done." More articles from Linde Material Handling (UK) Ltd: |
