Enhanced flooded battery
June 1st 2007 Chloride Motive Power has
extended its Classic range to
include a Copper Stretched
Metal battery. It incorporates
a negative copper expanded
metal grid design said to
allow improved
performance
over other
traditional
vented lead acid
batteries. The
battery has been
designed for use
during heavy-duty
warehouse operations
involving high current-draw
applications, including high
bay reach trucks, VNAs and
bigger counter balance. Tests
have shown that the CSM
batteries provide an overall
improvement in
performance. This includes
5% gain whilst driving, a
6.5% energy increase during
acceleration and 8.5%
improvement in
power
during
lifting
operations.
The
batteries
operate at a
higher voltage with
lower internal resistance
and temperature than most
other traction batteries. This
provides increased power for
situations where more
