Mitsubishi’s bread winner June 1st 2005 Mitsubishi Forklift Trucks dealer, Welfaux, has won a contract to supply 29 new forklifts to Allied Bakeries.
With a third of the British bread market share to maintain, Allied’s materials handling equipment across its 20 UK sites must be reliable, as Allied’s Southern purchasing manager, Jon Berry, explains.
“We work our trucks up to 90 hours a week – so above all we need robust and reliable trucks. Also, the gaspowered trucks more than fulfil our environmental criteria.” The Mitsubishi trucks sold to Allied are 24 N series LP counterbalance trucks, fitted with special ‘bread clamps’, two FB18KT 48V electric counterbalance tucks and three RB14 & 16 K series reach trucks.
To be used nationwide, Welfaux’s ability to service and maintain equipment nationwide was a significant factor in the win. More articles from Mitsubishi Electric Europe: |
