Fleet to keep stock supplied
April 1st 2006

Independent cash and carry wholesalers, United Wholesale is committed to ensuring its retail customers are never out of stock. The business receives constant deliveries from suppliers at its sites in Springburn and Polmadie, Glasgow and has four 17.5t lorries delivering products across Scotland.

The company uses a Toyota 7FBMF electric forklift to unload an average of 200 pallets a day, travelling continuously up and down a steep ramp.

As well as four Toyota 6FBRE reach trucks which are used in the warehouse, United Wholesale also operates a 7FBEF threewheeled forklift.

When choosing trucks to handle its goods-out, the architecture of the loading bay was an important factor.

With a clearance height of only two metres, the forklift had to be capable of working long shifts and moving around the height restricted bay. The 7FBEF with its AC2 Power System and high capacity 48V battery provided the solution.
