50% capacity increase December 1st 2004 A fleet of Narrow Aisle Flexi lift trucks has helped pharmaceutical manufacturer, Thornton & Ross, increase its storage capacity by 50%, supporting brand expansion.
In April 2002 Thornton & Ross acquired a number of new brands, resulting in an immediate demand for extra warehouse space. At the time the company was operating a double deep system with the three metre wide aisles served by pantograph and counterbalance trucks a system which did not allow extra pallet capacity to be created.
Having carried out an efficiency study, the company installed Dexion racking and three Flexis, enabling pallet capacity to be increased by 1500 to 4500, an increase of 50%, in the same building envelope. More articles from Narrow Aisle Flexi: |
