December 1st 2008 Windsor Komatsu and Access recently
secured a three year contract with
overnight distribution firm Mitchell's of
Mansfield for three Komatsu BX50 FD25
counterbalances.
The forklift trucks needed were
required to be extremely robust and
durable given the high volume of hours
that they are running each day, while
providing flexibility in the warehouse for
its pick and pack facility. After initial
consultation and a site survey it was
deemed that Komatsu FD25's fitted with
4.3 metre three stage masts and
transmission protection systems were the
appropriate trucks for the job. Mitchell's
was especially impressed with one of the
features of the Komatsu BX50 range: The
tandem hydraulic pump gives very fast
lifting speeds when idling, negating the
need for high revving of the engine
when lifting and stacking, reducing fuel
