Articulated trucks gain storage December 1st 2004 By renting two Bendi BN40 forklifts from Translift, 3PL provider, Debach Enterprises expects to gain 16% more pallet positions at its Ipswitch distribution centre. A further benefit is that, due to the Bendis flexibility, the company expects to be able to cut the size of its current fleet substantially.
Thanks to its articulated design, the truck can operate in 1.8m aisles, compared with the 2.6m and 3.6m needed by reach and counterbalance trucks. This means that in some cases, Bendi users can increase pallet storage by 30 to 50% in existing space. Its large, cushion-tyred wheels mean it can be used for tasks outside, unlike most reach trucks. This can eliminate double handling.
Equipped with sideshift, Debachs Bendis lift 1150kg to 6050mm. They replenish ground level picking by bringing down full pallet loads from above and load/unload lorries. More articles from Bendi: |
