CMP renews Tesco agreement October 1st 2005 Chloride Motive Power has renewed its sole supplier agreement for a further three years with Tesco. The agreement means CMP will supply all Tesco’s lead-acid traction batteries, chargers and ancillary equipment for use in the company’s electric materials handling equipment. CMP engineers will also provide regular scheduled maintenance for the batteries.
A further factor in ensuring optimal power management for the fleet is the application of CMP’s battery management systems - including CMP.net and multi-deck battery changing systems.
In line with Tesco’s expansion/refurbishment programme at its RDCs, CMP’s battery changing systems and multi-level network management system will be installed at appropriate sites over the coming three years.
As well as battery charging and changing, this will provide electronic monitoring and control of charging operations, provide managers with real time status reports and ultimately improve the longevity of batteries, with further cost reduction in maintaining the battery fleet productivity.
