Faster, more efficient picking
October 1st 2004 Chapman envelopes has expanded its fleet of Atlet Omni DCR manrising stacker/order pickers to increase the speed and efficiency of order picking operations at its Lancashire plant.
The new Omni DCRs are working in racking up to five high. Palletised goods are brought from a production area by counterbalance trucks and put away by the Omnis. With their rising cabs, the units can pick orders from anywhere in the racking. The ‘diagonal lift’ capability, where the cab rises as the truck travels down the aisles, enables the operator to arrive at the required location in the shortest possible time.
A rotating and traversing fork carriage enables the Omni to stack and retrieve either side of the aisle, and to pick up pallets from the front when free-ranging. It also allows the operator to position the pallet at the most comfortable working height. More articles from Atlet Limited: |
