Greener Caterpillar fleet
June 1st 2008

PalletFORCE, working with Briggs Equipment, has invested nearly £300,000 in a fleet of new Caterpillar GP25N trucks with engine protection systems. The gas forklift trucks will achieve increased turnaround on pallet movements, reduce emissions and cut fleet operation costs.

The greener trucks have new industrial K series LPG engines and Class 1 catalytic converters. The engine management system incorporates automatic idle control, speed controller and automatic air/fuel ratio control. The trucks have high performance, low exhaust emissions and more efficient fuel consumption. They can be used both indoors and out, and even when working indoors, these trucks reduce noise levels, meeting the Noise at Work Act 2006 requirements.

"Many of our drivers simply won't drive anything else," comments Carl Worgan PalletFORCE operations director. "They can work fast and safe with great efficiency."
