Less electricity needed to recharge
April 1st 2004

City Plumbing Supplies, the heating and plumbing division of Travis Perkins, has taken delivery of 28 new Cat EP15KRT electric lift trucks from Finning Materials Handling as part of its continuous equipment investment programme.

Each branch will be equipped with one of the three-wheel units, which will be used to load/unload heating and plumbing supplies. Highly manoeuvrable, the 1400kg capacity trucks can be used in confined spaces. Each is fitted with a maintenance-free gel filled battery, which utilises a third less electricity during recharging than a standard battery. This provides greater energy efficiency and environmental benefits in line with Travis Perkins ISO 14002 accreditation.
