Linde trucks are Topps
February 1st 2005

Linde trucks are helping Topps Tiles handle high stock flow at its central warehouse and distribution centre – where over 1,400 tonnes of tiles and wood flooring product are moved every week.

Topps uses three H 20 T LPGpowered forklifts for loading and unloading high volumes of stock.

Hydrostatic drive has the advantage of ultra smooth operation – essential when handling high value loads such as tiles.

The company also uses 16 Linde T 20 S, two tonne capacity rider-operated pallet trucks for product transfer.

For its storage operation, Topps uses three Linde R 20 reach trucks which handle loads up to 1.2 tonnes to heights of 10.5 metres.

Each truck is fitted with a CCTV camera on the forks and a monitor in the cab to give the operator unrestricted views of the high-value load and its positioning in relation to the racking.

The reach trucks also have height indicators, enabling the operator to quickly determine the correct stacking/destacking height.

A dedicated resident engineer is also permanently based on site to ensure maximum uptime. Topps buying director, John Riley, claims all Topps operators prefer using Linde equipment because of its ergonomic design and inherent reliability, and says Linde’s solution is “not only matched precisely to our application, but also to our price requirements”.
