Nissan: Life gets better at 50 December 1st 2007 Speaking as Nissan
celebrates 50 years of forklift
manufacture, UK md,
Brendon Sparks, says the
best is yet to come –
characterised by its
acquisition of Atlet.
Targeting the 180,000
strong European warehouse
market, Sparks says the
intention is to retain
separate brand identities:
"Little overlap makes for a
perfect fit," he says. "Both
businesses will benefit from
our automotive business."
Car sales helped Nissan
achieve the bulk of its
€5.25bn operating profit last

crossover technologies –
developments engines in
fuel efficiency, exhaust
emissions, noise and
vibration – will help reduce
operating costs across
counterbalance and
warehouse ranges.
Signalling the company's
intent, he says Nissan will
introduce three new product

with a new generation of IC
trucks produced specifically
