Safer steering for smaller forklifts June 1st 2007 The Syncro system from
Nissan is said to increase lift
truck productivity,
particularly when working in
restricted areas. It provides
straight line travel when
required and indicates the
angle of the steer wheels
on the dashboard display
when the truck is travelling
slowly.
The system is being
applied as standard to all
models in Nissan's threewheel
TX and four-wheel
BX series of warehouse
electric forklifts. With angle
sensors and powered
steering, Nissan Syncro
returns the steering wheel
spinner knob to the same
pre-selected position for
straight line travel, forward
or reverse, giving safer and
more productive operation.
When the truck gathers
speed, the steer wheel angle
on the instrument panel is
replaced by a speedometer
read-out.
Syncro technology is part
of the Risk Reduction System
that Nissan is applying to its
complete forklift range to
provide safety for both the
operator and surrounding
workforce. It is designed to
create a cabin space with allround
visability, and with
dedicated controls to ensure
secure operation. More articles from Nissan Motor (GB) Limited: |
