Switch to Samuk for reliability

Fruit Storage owns orchards and imports, exports and distributes fruit from five depots in South East and East England. To help keep costly downtime to a minimum, the company decided to replace its forklift fleet with units.

Fruit Storage is a long standing customer of Stowmarket-based React Plant Services and required an immediate response as to whether reliable forklifts could be supplied. It was at this point that React Plant realised it was time to switch supplier to meet these demanding criteria.

Having been to an open day held by Samuk Lift Trucks, and seen the stock of parts and trucks at Peterborough, the owners of React Plant were also impressed by the backup Samuk could provide, with 93% parts availability.

React Plant Services supplied its first Samuk on contract hire to Fruit Storage. The Samuk H18L (1800kg gas counterbalance with 4500mm triple mast) fitted with a rotator is used for multiple tasks. Fruit Storage is reported to be pleased with the performance and reliability, whilst the operators favour the Samuk for its comfort, good visibility, and simple, conventional controls.
