Battery brings energy gains April 1st 2009 Exide Technologies (CMP
Batteries) can now offer
customers a Copper
Stretched Metal battery as
part of its Classic range. It
incorporates a negative
copper expanded metal
grid design
to boost
performance.
The
battery has
been designed
for use during
heavy-duty warehouse
operations involving high
current-draw applications,
including high bay reach
trucks, VNAs and larger
counterbalance machines.
The
company
says a key
benefit is
the
significant
energy gain
compared
with standard
flooded batteries; it says
tests have shown that the
CSM batteries provide an
overall improvement in
performance. This includes
5% gain while driving, a
6.5% energy increase during
acceleration and 8.5%
improvement in power
during lifting operations.
The batteries have the
same dimensions and
weight as standard batteries
but are designed to have a
substantially longer
operating life. More articles from Exide Technologies: |
