Heavy duty lifting of cast iron bars October 1st 2005 UCB Starkey’s Technicast has taken delivery of four Komatsu forklifts, supplied through local dealer, Windsor Komatsu. The FD30 T-14 trucks will be used to carry out heavy lifting jobs by the company, which manufactures continually cast iron bars.
Weighing up to one tonne each and stretching to 12 feet in length, the bars are stored in piles. The forklifts drive into the stack to pick up individual bars.
The FD30 T-14’s have a lifting capacity of 3000kg and are reported to be top of their class for torque and high displacement, making them particularly suited to heavy duty work like that at Starkey's. The delivery of the four trucks means the fleet at the site is 100% Komatsu. More articles from Komatsu MH UK: |
