High value items moved without damage
December 1st 2005 Two versatile Sidetracker multi-directional lift trucks are providing handling for a wide range of raw materials and finished products at Carter Retail Equipment's new factory in Birmingham.
Key to the operation is the Sidetrackers' ability to move the high-value cabinets, measuring up to 4m wide x 1.5m high x 1.25m deep, safely and without damage between the production area, storage racking and delivery vehicles in the factory yard. The trucks are also used to handle incoming raw materials such as steel sheet.
To prevent damage during storage, guidance rails have been set further from the racking than usual, so the Sidetrackers have a specially deep fork reach to enable them to pick up and place each item in a single movement, which also speeds up handling More articles from Sidetracker Engineering Ltd: |
