Reduce maintenance, increase safety April 1st 2009 Wholesale fruit, vegetable
and flower traders at the
Western International
Market's site near
Heathrow Airport have
chosen forklift and
warehouse trucks from
the Still electric range,
supplied by Still's West
London and Central-
Southern England
Distributor, Locators.
Attributes of the Still
design such as sealed-forlife
brakes and drive
motors mean high
reliability with low
maintenance costs, as
well as longer working
cycles between battery
charges were all key
factors in the decision.
Western International
Market is a huge fruit,
vegetable and flower
wholesale market near to
Heathrow Airport.
Locators has worked at
the Western International
Market for over 10 years
and has been providing
Still trucks since October
2007. It has supplied 16
Still trucks to a number of
tenants so far, a figure
which will increase as
more existing trucks come
up for replacement.
Nick Hitchcock, Locators
sales manager, who has
been the driving force
behind the change to Still,
explained: "The beauty of
the Still trucks is their
efficient use of power and
this means that the battery
life is much longer than
conventional trucks. At the
end of a hard eight-hour
shift, the batteries are often
still more than threequarters
charged". More articles from Still Materials Handling Ltd: |
