Sales and service solutions for Scotland
April 1st 2008

By meeting the needs of the oil, fishing, distilling and utilities industries, the Scottish materials handling industry provides increasingly specialist products and service Briggs Equipment, UK national Cat Lift Truck distributor, has been operating out of Livingston for 14 years, and understands the importance of building a partnership with a supplier and service provider who can deliver both product and service diversification.

Grant Lockie, regional manager for Briggs Equipment in Scotland, comments "Today, changes to the overarching service industry and the evolution of the materials handling sector means that suppliers need to proactively offer a range of handling equipment and be able to service what they sell.

"In order to offer a bespoke materials handling solution, we supply a comprehensive range of equipment from Caterpillar lift trucks, but also have the ability to source and service equipment from a range of manufacturers. For example, we supply and maintain a utilities company with fork lift trucks, diggers, quad bikes, and trailers." Briggs Equipment has one of the largest networks of trained service engineers in Scotland.

Across its Scottish customer base, it monitors fleet uptime and first-time-fix statistics, which often exceed 95%.
