Truck suits eccentric loads

Founded in 1959, Isle of Wight-based Clark Masts Teksam manufactures fasterecting telescopic and sectional mast systems to stringent deadlines, supporting a worldwide distributor network as well as the domestic market.

Increased production demands resulted in the need for a truck that could negotiate steep gradients, eccentric loads and tight turning circles - as well as improving productivity.

Local Samuk dealer, Peter Pontin, director of A.I.M.S. (IOW) provided a cost effective solution by supplying a Samuk HJ13 3- wheel electric counterbalance, which is able to cope with gradeability and manoeuvrability thanks to its twin drive, compact design.

The Zapi controller, coupled with SEM motors gives smooth movement control which is critical to eccentric loads, whilst the fully programmable regenerative electric braking provides an additional safety measure on inclines by eliminating rollback and the need for a footbrake.
