iFob is key innovation August 1st 2010 Traka's two most recent innovations
are said to be cost effective and
reliable in managing fork truck fleets.
The company's small fleet system
has been installed on over 8000 trucks
in the UK and is designed to ensure
that only authorised drivers have
access to vehicles. The small fleet
system works without the need for
software or key cabinets.
Traka's solution relies upon
intelligent electronic keys - iFobs -
that can't be copied and which carry a
user's unique profile. These iFobs
operate in conjunction with a
variation of the Traka Immobilisor, as
used in all other Traka fork truck
management systems.
Each driver has an individual iFob
and updating the iFob to change
access permissions takes seconds. The
iFobs are hard-wearing, nickel-plated
brass tubes.
Launched alongside the small fleet
system, Traka's key control and access
management system continues to
prove popular for leading UK retail
supermarket giant Tesco. Fitted on
over 2,200 fork trucks at 22 Tesco
distribution centres, the company has
saved some 80,000 hours per year, or
over £1 million pounds in improved
productivity.
By changing from the tried and
tested 'key per truck' to an 'iKey per
Person' approach, it allows each driver
to be given his or her own personal
iFob. More articles from Traka Plc: |
