Linde is spot on for safety September 1st 2011 Linde Material Handling has
launched a visual driving path
warning device – BlueSpot – to
improve truck operator safety in the
warehouse environment. The
BlueSpot consists of two energy
efficient, long life LED lights attached
to the top of the driver's protective
roof frame to project a large blue spot
on to the warehouse floor a few
metres ahead of the direction of the
truck's travel (forwards or
backwards). This acts as a warning to
approaching pedestrians and can be
lit constantly or set to flash
intermittently to attract attention.
Jeff Aylott, head of customer
services at Linde MH UK explains:
"The warehouse environment
requires very specific health and safety
measures, especially in areas where
forklift trucks and pedestrians meet,
such as storage, incoming goods,
dispatch and manufacturing areas.
Forklift operators often find the shrill
tones of acoustic warning devices
disruptive and therefore sometimes
switch them off. That's why we've
launched the new BlueSpot warning
device to overcome the issues of
audible devices and safeguard both
truck operators and personnel
throughout the facility." More articles from Linde Material Handling (UK) Ltd: |
