People-driven fleet management
August 1st 2006

A materials handling fleet is a major commitment that must be managed effectively if a business is to be truly productive, says Toyota Industrial Equipment.

Consistent co-operation between the people managing the fleet and excellent communication, at customer, dealer and supplier level, is at the heart of good fleet management, according to Toyota, which has just launched an enhanced system designed to give customers optimum performance at every level.

Two of the main aims of fleet management are to improve efficiency and control costs. If these aims are not central to the management of the fleet a business could potentially be wasting resource and generating unnecessary expense.

Toyota says that productivity, cost management and safety are all dependent on a peopledriven fleet management system. Miles Griffin, marketing manager: "It is about more than just technology. The Toyota culture is all about people, as good communication and an ability to use information strategically are what drive any business forward."
