Transmission protection for forklifts

Lamerholm Electronics has created a new transmission protection system, designed to save tyres and protect transmission when operating forklift trucks.

The new Lamerholm TP is part of the ImpactManager range of equipmen monitors for improving forklift safety.

The Lamerholm TP is a microprocessor-based control system that prevents operators from slamming the truck from forward to reverse above a pre-set speed.

It also stops the trucks being used as bulldozers and limits fast starts.

The system works by allowing the gearbox and drive train to be totally passive when changing direction. This protects the forklift truck from potential wheel spin and premature drive train failure.

By installing this system, it is estimated that companies can save up to 300% in tyre wear costs per annum, as well as substantially reducing damage and ensuring operators drive safely around the plant or yard.

The product has been designed to fit onto all major truck models and is available as a complete kit.

Its compact design means that if required, it can be easily hidden, and there is full anti-tamper and fault diagnostics built into the dashboard display.
