Wireless monitoring
April 1st 2006

Companies wanting to safeguard staff, equipment and facilities in areas where forklift trucks are in use can now seamlessly integrate the latest ShockSwitch RFID from Lamerholm Electronics into their existing network.

ShockSwitch is a realtime link between a forklift in the plant and a PC in the office and collects data regarding use of the truck.

ShockSwitch RFID is currently the only system on the market that conforms completely to the 802.11 standard, without the need for modification.

The ShockSwitch RFID is attached to the forklift truck and transmits event data via a wireless network to the accompanying software.

Users can monitor an unlimited number of trucks and these can be programmed to send data straight away or to wait until a number of predefined events have occurred. With incidents that have important safety implications, such as impacts, an alert is sent immediately.
