Loading on both sides August 1st 2008 As Action Storage's
business expanded, the
company decided to
rearrange its racking and
shelving which meant it
also had to change the
type of forklift it had
been using. Tom Brialey
the MD did not want a
dedicated VNA truck
because of additional
wire/rail guidance costs
and space requirements
for manoeuvring at aisle
ends.
Translift Bendi offered
a one-truck solution – its
sideloader truck. Decks
on either side of the truck
and its forks allow
support of 5m lengths of
steel that can swivel 180°
independently of its two
close-coupled front
steering wheels. Loading
is enabled on both sides.
The Bendi sideloader can
lift 900kg to 6m at
600mm load centres.
Action storage have
gained a 25% increase in
pallet positions by
reducing cantilever and
pallet racking aisle width.
The truck also works in
the yard loading and
unloading delivery lorries
as a back up to the old
counterbalanced truck.
"We are far better
organised since we got
this truck. When we
move to another
building, that Bendi will
come with us because we
know that it will operate
anywhere," says Brialey. More articles from Translift Bendi Limited: |
