Lissadell, has recently
consolidated
storage,
distribution and
administrative
facilities under
one roof. This
prompted the
search for
efficient and
cost effective
handling and
storage
procedures and
as a result the company now
uses an Aisle-Master
articulated forklift.
The electric Aisle-Master
now in place can work in
aisles almost as narrow as a
VNA truck, yet offers greater
versatility. Installing racking
around the operational
capabilities of the truck has
achieved an optimum
storage density of 800 pallet
spaces in the 12,000 ft2
warehouse facility. The cost
of an extra outdoor truck
has also been saved as the
Aisle-Master easily makes
the transition from the
warehouse to unpaved
yards.
Commenting on the
handling system now in
place, general manager
Marc Wynne said: "Its
manoeuvrability and
versatility make the Aisle-
Master a great truck. The
manufacturer also pulled
out all the stops to get the
truck in place as quickly as
possible as they knew we
needed it in a hurry. The
drivers find it easy to
operate, and the good
visibility makes for safer
